I will be Supporting Ted Shepherd this Saturday

“Hi, I’m Nathan and I live in Gilston with my family. I know Ted and his whole family….and have been lucky enough to witness his honesty and integrity in which he supports our local community. I am a avid mountain biker and have been impressed how Ted has shown his interest and support of the mountain biking scene. He is very aware of what us mountain bikers need and how best to integrate our sport with other outdoor activities whilst minimising impact and maximising the benefit to both rider and the surrounding community

……I am looking forward to living in an area where Ted’s positive influence is back in the council”

Vote 1 Ted Shepherd for Division 9 this Saturday.

Why Community is Important

We need to Support Sport and Community Groups

The 4th principle I would like to talk about is community. We have a wonderful community in Mudgeeraba and our Hinterland region. We’ve got the greatest number of churches in any division. We’ve got the largest number of schools in any division on the Gold Coast. We have the largest number of sporting groups and community groups than anywhere else on the Gold Coast.

I support all community groups in Division 9. I have always done this and will continue to do this into the future. We need to make sure community groups prosper, that they grow in membership. That their ideals are maintained and their objectives grow.

Put simply, we need to support them. As division councillor, I promise to support every community group on its own merit, equally throughout the division.

Ted Supports Community Groups

Each weekend I will be driving through our division to discuss concerns with locals and review projects and ongoing maintenance that had been put in place during my terms as councillor to see what work has been done and what needs to be done.

Today I started with a road trip through our hinterland regions. It was upsetting to see the hard work by the community groups and myself go to waste with no progression and neglect to our roads, small businesses and natural bushland.

My vision for the hinterland was to preserve the area through selective eco tourism organised by our locals and community groups which allowed our small communities to grow and flourish.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be continuing my weekend reviews outlining to you our previous achievements and plans/proposals that were in place which have disappeared during the current term.

It’s my goal to reunite the small groups and communities that have been disassociated so that everyone has an equal voice.

Vote 1 Ted Shepherd!
